Lyon & Katz Capital, fondly referred to simply as LKC; was founded in Boca Raton after years of combined financial experience, on the basis of our two Capital Pillars: Ethics and Morality. It is no secret to us at LKC, as a collective of lenders and loan brokers, our industry does not have the best reputation and often leaves a sour taste in people’s mouths whether it’s from personal experience or word of mouth. We embrace that at Lyon & Katz Capital, we love to be able to be the ones to set the example every single day on how lending should be… EXPANSION! We don’t want a “one and done” client, we want to continually bond together and fund your growth for a lifetime, if not generations to come! That is why our clients trust us, from our strict morality clauses all employees sign, that if violated punishment ranges from immediate termination, to legal prosecution (copies of employee morality clauses can be viewed upon client request). We are client first and client centric. We are able to get the best rates because we have the largest and best vested network, not just one or two funders we work for and answer to, we have 30+ lending partners… that allows us to price shop and use our buying power on your behalf! 

Just the name “Lyon & Katz Capital” combined with our logo usually elicits a chuckle, because we embrace that it’s a funny play on words, and finance requires humor. However, acknowledging the humor does not take away the meaning of our namesake founders from our hearts, and how we hold our company accountable to their values and accomplishments, over our own…

Nathaniel Lyon

Nathaniel Lyon, who is a direct ancestor of founding partner Nicholas Russ, was a fiercely committed Union Brigadier General and patriot who played a crucial, decisive role in securing Missouri for the Union cause at the start of the Civil War. A brave and aggressive commander, he is remembered as the first Union general killed in action (at the Battle of Wilson's Creek), making him an early Northern hero and martyr for the cause. His quick, decisive actions, including the seizure of the St. Louis arsenal, were instrumental in frustrating secessionist plans in the key border state, and decisively preventing Missouri from becoming a slavery state.

William Loren Katz

William Loren Katz was a highly dedicated and influential Jewish-American historian and educator who devoted his life to revealing hidden and marginalized narratives in American history.

He was the prolific author of 40 books on African American, Native American, and progressive history, noted for his accessible style that could be used by students from children to university level. Katz's work focused on themes of courage, resilience, and resistance of oppressed peoples, significantly contributing to a more inclusive teaching of history.

He also served as a consultant to the U.S. Senate, the British House of Commons, and the Smithsonian Institution, and was recognized with multiple awards for his contributions to literature and education.

Not everyone is aware of this as we do not publicly advertise it to clients, because we do not believe in using charity during a sales conversation. Nevertheless, we would like all partners and clients to be publicly aware, Lyon & Katz Capital has sworn to reserve 10% minimum of yearly company profits to be donated to charity. We mainly focus on Women's and Children's organizations; but are more than open to suggestions!

As you can see, choosing to put the name of men we respect on the wall, foregoing our own egos and namesakes to honor two men we deeply respect, and who exemplify our Capital Pillars of Ethics and Morality, is all about LKC anyone needs to know… While of course we are an open book, so any questions you may have feel free to ask during your appointment and we’ll give the best answer we can, and if we don’t know we will follow up and find out. 

But trust us, brokers love talking about ourselves! We know we’re insufferable at times, it’s okay to say it. But it’s worth every second of us getting as much information as we can to be able to provide the best options for you, and let our companies expand for generations together!
